I have been drawing, painting, and sewing since I was a little girl. I have always been delighted by using my hands to create beauty. My mama, who was an excellent seamstress and was often at her sewing machine, taught me to sew. When I became a mom myself I decided to start a custom sewing business as a way to stay home with my little ones. Four babies later, I had sewn everything from bridesmaid dresses to slip covers.
Years later I began drafting my own patterns and developed a working relationship with several sewing magazines and publishers of sewing books. I have contributed to over 80 magazines, 8 books, and even filmed a sewing class with a publishing house.
Through all of those years of work though, I have always been passionate building a small company centered around beautiful handmade goods and imaginative art for children. I began drawing and painting art for children when the idea for my Enchanted dolls was born. I actually painted my first doll, a gypsy princess, and was struck by what a beautiful soft dolly she would make.
I create pretty things in my home studio, in Charleston South Carolina.
