Indigo Oyster 3 Hand-Embellished Limited Edition

The Inspiration: The final study in the series, Indigo Oyster 3, treats the shell as a historical artifact. Drawing on her background in the Humanities, April explores how the oyster has shaped the architecture and economy of the Lowcountry, from the lime used in historic tabby structures to the bustling oyster houses of old Charleston. This painting focuses on the sculptural architecture of the shell, utilizing high-contrast highlights and deep shadows to bring a modern, sophisticated edge to a historic subject. It is a work of "Atmospheric Impressionism" that bridges the gap between the raw natural world and the refined Southern home.

MADE FOR YOU: A HAND EMBELLISHED LIMITED EDITION

The Artist’s Hand & Process

A hand-embellished giclée is a soulful bridge between a reproduction and an original work of art. Each piece begins as a bespoke collaboration between the collector and the studio. Once your selection is made, April brings the canvas to her easel to begin the layering process. Using the same professional-grade oils and sculptural palette knife techniques found in her originals, she hand-applies physical texture and light directly to the surface. To ensure the lasting value of your acquisition, each piece is titled, dated, and hand-signed by April on the reverse. This meticulous process ensures the "tactile energy" of the work is preserved, making your specific edition a one-of-a-kind artifact.

CANVAS STYLES AND STUDIO FRAMING

To maintain a gallery-standard aesthetic, we offer three curated finishes designed to complement the atmospheric depth of the work.

Stretched Gallery-Wrapped: Professionally stretched over heavy-duty 1.5” wooden bars with finished edges. Please note: To ensure structural integrity and prevent canvas warping over time, all works larger than 30x40 are available exclusively in a framed presentation.

Studio Classic Gold: A soft-lustre, elegant finish that captures the warm, coastal light with a timeless, muted glow.

Studio Antique Silver: A crisp, sophisticated choice that highlights the mineral blues and cool grays of the marsh.

Studio Natural Oak: An organic, airy wood grain perfect for modern, light-filled interiors.

Arrival: Your artwork arrives fully assembled and pre-mounted hanging wire—ready to transform your space the moment it reaches your door.

SHIPPING AND CURING: THE SLOW ART PROCESS

Because each piece is individually hand-painted to order, we follow a deliberate timeline to ensure the integrity of the oil pigments and the safety of the work.

The Studio Timeline: Please allow 3–4 weeks for the creation of your piece.

The Curing Period: Once hand-embellished, your canvas requires 2 weeks to dry and cure properly in the studio before it can be safely traveled.

Complimentary Insured Delivery: We are pleased to provide Complimentary Studio Shipping on all domestic orders. For your peace of mind, every shipment is fully insured and handled with the utmost care.

In Transit: You will receive a personal notification once your work has cured and is being prepared for shipment. Delivery typically takes 4–7 business days via professional carrier.

Studio Policy: As these are custom works, order changes must be made within 24 hours of purchase.
