Periwinkle Reflection: An Original Oil Study
24" x24"
Periwinkle Reflection is a 24" x 24" exploration of light and memory. The inspiration for this work began on Broad Creek in Hilton Head Island. I spent the late afternoon on the water, watching the sky transition into those rare, luminous shades of periwinkle that only appear as the sun begins its final descent.
Rendered in my signature impasto style, this work is a celebration of texture. I used a palette knife to build up the "Periwinkle" clouds, creating a sculptural surface that physically catches the light in your room.
