Folly Dusk: An Original Oil Study
Folly Dusk is an exploration of the ephemeral light that defines the Charleston coastline. Inspired by the quiet reaches of Folly Beach, this original oil painting captures the transition between day and night—the moment when the sky softens into a wash of pastels and the shoreline reflects the "dreamy glow" of the descending sun.
This piece is less a literal recording of a beach and more a study in Atmospheric Perspective. I sought to document the way the salt air diffuses the light, turning the horizon into a soft, hazy boundary between the sea and the heavens.

Rendered in my signature impasto style, this work uses the physical weight of the paint to mimic the movement of the clouds and the tide.
