Periwinkle Reflection was inspired by an afternoon and evening I spent on my paddle board. The candy colored sky sparkled in the waters all around me as every soft sound of life humming in and under the marsh enveloped.
Painted in my signature impasto style, it captures the way light dances on the calm waters of a tidal creek near Bowen Island a Folly Beach, SC. This is one of my favorite paddle board spots. I took a first pictures of the marsh and came home to paint. I distinctly loved the periwinkle clouds rising above the waters as the sun set.
