Verde Mountains: An Original Oil Study
48" X 24"
There is a singular, quiet power in the Upstate of South Carolina, where the foothills begin their ascent into the Blue Ridge Mountains. Verde Mountains is a 48-inch panoramic exploration of that layered serenity. In this work, I sought to capture the "Tranquil In-Between" that exists as the morning mist rises through the distant peaks, softening the world into shades of emerald and hazy sapphire.
In the study of the Humanities, we often reflect on the concept of "The Sublime"—the awe we feel when confronted with the vastness of the natural world. This painting is an invitation to experience that scale within the home, reminding us of the beauty found in being small against a grand, ancient horizon.
